About the role:
Wolseley UK are currently recruiting a Category Manager to join our Commercial team in Warwick. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a series of customer offerings, which are created from appropriate product ranges and services that meet the customer requirements delivered through the appropriate channels to market.
You will also be responsible for:
Leading the development of a cross functional strategy for one or more customer offers which includes long-term development requirements as well as the outline Trading Plan in order to deliver the appropriate market position and agreed KPI’s.
Devising, implementing and monitoring a robust and detailed Trading Plan to deliver the customer strategies and associated financial targets. Working cross-functionally with other internal stakeholders to ensure delivery and implementation of the agreed plan.
Accountability for the range architecture so that the ranges meet customer strategy requirements, that are complimentary to the overall WUK range guidelines, Including own brand.
Devising exit and implementation strategies and tactics for removing discontinued products to ensure overall Category stock holding targets are delivered.
Overall accountability for the creation and management of supplier relationships that support the customer strategies and the negotiation of all supplier support for marketing, promotional and other customer specific initiatives
Awareness and analysis of main competitors and market landscape. This role will require an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of competitors’ offerings and will ensure that this is reflected in the Category range & price architecture. Overall, this role will utilise market insights and intelligence in order to leverage Category performance.
What we are looking for:
Previous experience working in category management.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Customer and market focus
Able to influence key stakeholders at a range of different levels inside and outside the organisation
Ability to negotiate commercial terms at a strategic level
Able to deliver against challenging targets and results
Analytical skills in order to interpret complex information pertaining to market changes and competitor activity
