About the role
We are recruiting for a Sales Office Manager to join our Infrastructure Branch in Halesowen for Fusion Utilities, who are the UK’s leading supply chain partner for utilities and utility infrastructure providers. We provide products for the gas, water, and multi-utility sector through a national logistics network that meets customer needs quickly and professionally.
You will manage the internal sales team to deliver upon financial expectations of the business through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring. You will drive intelligent trading and customer service excellence to achieve revenue, gross profit pounds and margin targets, whilst building strong relationships with our customers, suppliers (both internally and externally), and the field sales force.
You will also be responsible for:
Assisting the branch leadership team in ensuring a safe working environment, and lead by example.
Coach/Mentor the sales team members who are fully focused on meeting individual and branch based targets. Completing monthly 1:2:1’s that deliver clear objectives for each individual.
Use multiple communication methods to ensure that the branch team are fully engaged on current performance and areas that we need to focus on to deliver revenue, profit, and margin growth.
Build a driven sales force that are always first to respond to price enquiries and quote requests.
Analyse and track branch based reporting in order to identify and build activity based plans and short/longer term strategies.
Collaborate with customers and suppliers ensuring a long lasting and mutually beneficial relationship.
Adhere to company policy and trade with integrity.
Use the benefits of ‘Connect Plus’, ‘Syrinx’ and Syncro-Tess systems to deliver service excellence.
Maximise the value of transactions using contract support, preferred suppliers, and add on sales methods.
Manage customer complaints ensuring that lessons are learnt, and a satisfactory resolution has been reached. Minimise the need for credit applications where possible.
Driving down branch and company ‘debtor days’.
Assist in driving down operational costs through effective communication with Branch Manager, Branch Operations Manager, Transport Planning, Central Support Services.
Assist the Branch Manager to ensure stock profile represents customer and project needs, and provision stock is turned quickly maximising space in yard/warehouse.
Driving sales and profit through management of customer count ledger, working with multiple suppliers at quote stage, to gain the best price and service offering by customers, whilst maximising our profit potential.
Liaise with Business Development Representatives, and Category Specialists to build structured sales plans to maximise wallet spend from local sites & customers.
Deputise in the absence of the Branch Manager, as instructed.
What we are looking for:
A proven track record in sales team leadership and delivering sales results with an encouraging and coaching management style.
A strong communicator, experience of communicating at various levels within an organisation.
Performance driven with excellent negotiating skills.
Skilled in relationship building both internally and externally.
Experience in tendering processes and terms management.
A sound understanding of business objectives.
An analytical approach.
The ability to work calm and collectively under pressure.
Strong IT skills, specifically within Microsoft Office.
