About the role:

We are currently recruiting a Senior Inventory Manager to join our Leamington Spa office. You will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating the inventory planning team to produce highly effective inventory plans to deliver market leading product availability, inventory targets and cost KPIs. You will also be responsible for developing effective strategies to manage different product categories and ensure product availability. You will be analysing product performance based on current trends and recommend changes to optimise inventory levels (including inventory projections, shortfalls, overages, ageing, obsolescence and stock turns) to drive Customer OTIF


You will also be responsible for:

  • Management of circa 20k skus, annual purchase value of £400m over 700 suppliers and inventory value of £70m
  • Lead and manage the Inventory Planning team
  • Develop and execute safety stock and replenishment strategies at both Branch and DCs to achieve strategic KPIs
  • Manage demand forecast and supply plans to achieve target inventory levels
  • Manage stock across branches and DCs using ordering & tracking analytics
  • Constantly strive to improve processes, always aiming to delight our customers with industry leading levels of product availability whilst optimising inventory stock turns
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure outstanding product availability and supply chain efficiency targets are consistently achieved

What we are looking for:

  • Highly analytical and numerate with the confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the business, including board level
  • Expertise in all areas of operational Stock & Inventory Management
  • A background in fast paced inventory planning environment with an in-depth understanding of the E2E processes
  • A strong leader with experience of managing inventory teams in high SKU count product environments
  • Ability to develop a high performing team culture, leading, motivating, coaching and developing a team
  • A continuous improvement ethos, constantly looking for a better way
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and work at pace to ensure all given deadlines are met
  • Proven success in people management, building a strong resilient culture through times of change
  • Proven ability to extract and analyse data to generate insights and recommend actions
  • Ability to break down complex problems, carry out root cause analysis and recommend/implement permanent countermeasures
  • Proactive approach to maintaining good working relationships, both internally & externally
