About the role

As an Area Sales Manager you will be responsible to identify, develop and execute business opportunities within the South Wales and Gloucestershire area to exceed KPIs and deliver maximum sales revenue and margin returns to the Industrial division of Wolseley. Being proactive and passionate in meeting client needs and delivering the highest levels of service you will develop plans to drive activity and sales in the short- and long-term, whilst operating in a manner that is consistent with the wider objectives of the Sales function and the values of WUK.

  • Manage 25 accounts with a spend value of £3 million
  • One account has a spend value of £1.5 million

About you

  • Experience of specification sales, managing accounts or working in sales across a geographical territory
  • Knowledge of valve and actuation products is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in selling pipe and fittings is highly desired.
  • Proactive approach towards business development, identifying new opportunities and sales growth
  • Client relationship management – a clear focus upon developing long-term relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Able to communicate technical information in a clear yet comprehensive manner
  • Able to influence senior stakeholders and clients, both inside and outside the organisation
  • Able to demonstrate passion and resilience in working towards demanding goals and driving issues to a successful conclusion
  • Able to demonstrate commercial acumen, a high level of numeracy and a proven record of making commercially sound decisions
  • Driven to deliver the highest levels of customer service
