OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To provide a single point of contact for strategic Plumb Center customers
  • To manage and maintain a high level of customer service to Key Account Customers
  • To grow Key Account customers sales and margin by effective account management
  • To be a Key player in the Key Account / Estimating Team
  • To build up strong relationships with people throughout the business and assist in providing the best service to the customer

SCOPE OF THE JOB

  • Work with the team to provide excellent Customer Service
  • Drive sales generation and promote the Key Account / Estimating Team
  • Manage Key Account Customers with Multiple sites throughout the UK
  • Administer correct pricing, contract support and demand planning
  • Process orders through the branch network and all the Wolseley brands
  • Demonstrate a professional approach in order to instil a positive work ethic in other team members
  • Follow and develop procedures and processes to effectively manage the Key Account Customers Business
  • Develop product and company knowledge through experience and a proactive approach to learning

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Product Knowledge within the Building Industry would be preferred
  • An appreciation of the demands of working within the merchant industry
  • Understanding the importance of Teamwork and how it can improve service levels to the customer
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding and passion for Customer Service Excellence
  • To be able to work with a minimum of supervision and manage own workload

PROBLEM SOLVING/OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION

  • Identifying problem areas and working with people within the business to resolve them
  • Working with Team Leaders to identify areas to improve customer service and processes

  • To take ownership through to completion of delegated tasks
  • Make decisions to affect the performance of the Key Account Team
  • Work with other members of the team in making group decisions
