About the role

The main focus of this position is to grow the electrical business by developing existing and introducing new customers whilst maximising both turnover and profit nationally. The Business Development Manager is accountable for meeting business generation and sales growth targets across the WUK Branch network. And is responsible for the successful execution of the agreed business development plans with a clear focus upon maximising sales and margins. 

You will be responsible for:

  • The development of the current customer base whilst maximising turnover and profit
  • Work in conjunction with the UPS Trading Director, Commercial Director and Management to extend the number of customers and range of products sold
  • Provide monthly reports
  • Provide basic product training to Internal and External contacts
  • Interaction with branches and internal sales team to maximise opportunities
  • Tenders and quotation support

About you

  • Experience of developing specialist product sales within a multi-site environment
  • Demonstrable capability in successfully managing complex issues and delivering sustainable commercial results
  • Strategic thinker – ability to translate and communicate strategic goals and turn a vision into a practical business plan
  • Commercial acumen and ability to execute commercial plans to deliver profitable results
  • Numeracy skills and the ability to interpret financial information
  • Able to influence and challenge senior level stakeholders and clients in an appropriate manner
  • Drive to remove obstacles and overcome resistance to deliver a positive solution
  • Full driving licence
