Plumbing and Heating Estimator

Pipe & Climate Center, one of our trade brands, is seeking a Project Office Estimator to join our team in Basildon.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing our customers, both internal and external, with technical and sales support on Plant-room products and service offering, including; support for quotations of goods sold within Pipe Centre, providing internal support of our external sales force and branch network, working closely with customers and sales team on projects to provide accurate and competitive proposals,  in conjunction with VAS and preferred supplier base. You will:

  •         Provide quotation/tenders and technical support to regional & Key Accounts on Commercial Heating products and systems

  •          Work closely with customers to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements to offer appropriate solutions

  •          Work with the external sales team to ensure competitive pricing strategy

  •          Promote own brand/preferred supplier products and/or Value Added Services (VAS)

  •          Manage information on jobs via CRM ( – i.e. updates to sales team on progress of jobs/tenders

  •          Maintain quote logs; tracking job progress and update wins/losses  and reasons

  •          Liaise with preferred manufacturers/suppliers to offer a co-ordinated response to projects

  •          Negotiate project support/special pricing where required

  •          Work with suppliers on packages to offer customer the most accurate and competitive quote

  •          Attend training to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge of preferred product


    About you

    To be selected for telephone interview you must be able to demonstrate:

  •         Product knowledge – Plastics/Pipe Fittings and Valves/Commercial Heating systems

  •          Sound commercial awareness of Mechanical Heating Construction Industry

  •          Good written and verbal communication

  •          Strong to Excellent customer service skills

  •          IT literate – Microsoft Excel especially, CRM package to be used –

  •          Ability to work closely or within a team

  •          Self motivated


    This position is for 40 hours per week. Typical branch opening times are 7:30-5:00 weekdays.
